Polished Bellambi Bluestone
Polished Bluestone Tiles - Makes a Room Sparkle, Kitchens Too!
It is rare for stone to achieve a surface lustre to this degree. It happens rarely and only with bluestone of exceptional quality. Polished Bellambi has been used in foyers, lobbies, kitchens (see image above) and bathrooms with stunning effect. Under specialty lighting the polished finish makes a room sparkle with a formality few products can match. It is also an ideal cladding stone for foyers, lobbies and feature walls.
Ideal Cladding Option - Use Right Adhesive
This product is ideal for wall cladding using an adhesive recommended (eg Ardex) for wall fixing. The adhesive should be "buttered" evenly over the back of the tile to avoid possible discolouration on the front of the tile. Fixing by the spot bonding method should not be considered.
Bellstone's Bellambi Bluestone - No Big Holes
Bellambi bluestone has a beautiful uniform surface with only small 'pin prick' sized holes on its surface. Most other, less dense types of bluestone have much larger and very pronounced surface holes which tend to gather dirt and grease - they also weaken the stone.
Sealing is Worthwhile
The floor in the kitchen picture at the top of the page was sealed with 2 coats of Ultra-Solv. It was laid by an experienced natural stone tiler with impeccable fixing hygiene - all adhesive and grout smudges were cleaned tile by tile as he progressed. If you are unsure about the cleanliness of your tiler, we recommend that our bluestone be pre-sealed prior to installing or laying to prevent dust or grout residues penetrating the stone pores.
Go to sealers for more information about sealing natural stone.
