Bluestone’s toughness provides clients with excellent wear and tear resistance. Bluestone is used for structural work because of its high compressive strength and durability. Bluestone Tiles & Pavers - Stunning Project Options
Bluestone is a very versatile stone and readily takes a number of finishes to suit the needs of your project. These include honed, flamed and polished surfaces. Flamed and natural cut surfaces are preferred around outdoor areas, driveways and pool surrounds (see photos above) where risk of slipping may be a concern. Polished surfaces are preferred on internal floors (and walls) where trolleys, strollers and wheelchairs are used and/or where a floor is required to look great with little or low maintenance. Pavers 30mm thick are ideal for outdoors and patios.

Impressive Bluestone Range - Helps Match Your "Look & Feel" 
Bluestone is a dense, hard, dark coloured, fine grained igneous rock that is very versatile. Unlikemost bluestones, the holes are
barely visible.The colour ranges from black to a dark grey depending on its finish. The stone also has remarkable depth - a hallmark of quality.
The density of the material allows many different finishes -
* Polished – the bluestone shines like a mirror - an appealing choice for office foyers and commercial fit-outs.
* Honed – is a dark grey/black surface colour with a velvet appearance suited to indoor wall and flooring - a stunning product.
* Flamed – a surface finish (pictured above around a pool & in the 3 images below) that has a soft leathery character that is ideal for outside use where traction and safety are important.
* Natural - in its natural split form, Bluestone is available as cobbles for use on driveways and paths. They are very strong and the split face finish creates good traction. The dark grey/black colour is very practical as it shows no dirt or rubber tyre marks.
