Bellambi Bluestone - Honed Surface

Honed Bluestone Images Bellambi Honed Retail Outlet

The images above are of a beautifully designed home with bluestone throughout - dining room, kitchen, living room and hallway. The result is stunning bright colours e.g. red being used to contrast the formality of the dark grey bluestone. The image on the right is a menswear store in Oxford St. Paddington. The strong light reflections off the walls have distorted to surface colour making it look more brown than grey. The floor was laid in 2005 and is still wearing very well despite the heavy traffic.

Bellambi Bluestone Tile with a Honed Surface - Tough with Low Maintenance

Bluestone’s toughness gives it excellent wear and tear resistance; bluestone is used for structural work because of its high compressive strength and durability. High quality bluestone like Bellambi is an extraordinary asset because it can be used in so many different ways. The honed surface is ideal for indoor use on both floors and walls.

Ideal Cladding Option - Use Right Adhesive Bellambi Fire Hearth

This product is ideal for wall cladding using an adhesive recommended (eg Ardex)for wall fixing. The adhesive should be "buttered" evenly over the back of the tile to avoid possible discolouration on the front of the tile. Fixing by the spot bonding method should not be considered.

Stone Quality Ratings

The stone quality ratings below are based on objective test results; they are presented in a simple 1 - 5 star format to make interpretation easy. As you will see Bellambi bluestone is a star performer - a very impressive stone.

Bellstone's Bellambi Bluestone - No Big Holes

Bellambi bluestone has a beautiful uniform surface with only small 'pin prick' sized holes on its surface. Most other, less dense types of bluestone have much larger and very pronounced surface holes which tend to gather dirt and grease - they also weaken the stone.

We recommend that our bluestone be pre-sealed prior to installing or laying to prevent grout residues penetrating the stone pores.
