The images below show slate "tiles" used as wall cladding in the restroom of a wine bar / restaurant in The Rocks. Any stone in tile format (15mm thickness) can be easily adapted for use on walls providing the recommended adhesive is used.

North Country Slate on the Facade of a Modern Airport Bank
There are a couple of important observations to be made on this project; firstly, the smalll decorative, diagonally aligned, cornet pieces work marvelously well. They add interest and the intersecting lines created catch the attention.
Secondly, like most slate used indoors these tiles have been treated with a surface sealant that has enhanced the natural colours of the slate and resulted in a washable low sheen finish. This lowers maintenance costs by creating an easy to clean surface that looks great especially under specialty lighting or in naturally lit areas such as the verandah in the second photo.
