Slate Roofing - Glendyne Roof Slate
"Glendynes are top quality slates. They are square and uniform with a pleasing smooth finish. They lie beautifully flat on a roof with no visible flaws. We've used Glendynes on 4 of the last 5 projects - they're very popular for a good reason" - Roofing Contractor
Glendyne Slate Quarry - Characteristics
Glendyne slates are dark charcoal grey slate with a blue/black appearance depending on the light at the time. They have a fine textured surface with a longitudinal grain and chamfered edge.
Slate Roof Restoration - Glendyne Slate Ideal
The slate is blue/black in colour and contains no pyrites or visible metallic intrusions. This roof slate is relatively new to Australia but they have been selling shiploads of it to Europe and the UK where it has been used for many years without any recorded problems. The slate is ideal for restoration work on buildings with suitable roof pitches.
Photographs of homes with Glendyne slate roofs appear in the Case Studies - Contemporary Roof section
