Vermont Unfading Grey/Green Roof Slate
As the name implies, these roof slates are quarried in Vermont, USA an area renowned for their beautiful grey to green slates. The colour of these slates is permanent which is why they are referred to as "unfading". Slates from other quariies in the region undergo a slight colour change with time; in other words they fade.
Vermont Slate - Ultimo TAFE Roof Restoration
The image below left was kindly supplied by the Dept Commerce who are conducting the restoration of the old TAFE building in Ultimo, Sydney. The old green roof slates are being replaced by new Vermont slates in a project that commenced in March 2012 and is expected to be completed in 2013.
The image on the right shows Vermont roof slate used on a private home using copper ridge and hip capping.
