Mocha Travertine Tiles
Mocha Travertine Tiles - Honed & Filled 
These premium quality, crosscut travertine tiles exhibit beautiful light chocolate, caramel and beige colours.
The material is extremely dense and contains fewer holes than usual. These have been factory filled or tumbled and left unfilled as you can see from the images below (scroll down to the end of the page).
You may notice from the image of the display pieces below that the corners meet cleanly indicating the quality of the workmanship.
Stone Colour & Pattern Variation
Mocha travertine tiles like all stone tiles has variation in both colour and pattern, despite the fact that they have been factory sorted for both.
The challenge is to always achieve consistency in both colours and patterns but maintain the individuality of each piece that make up the whole.
This requires careful scrutiny in the factory so that rogue pieces are removed.
Mocha Travertine - Popular Uses 
Mocha travertine is really tough and very dense so it can be used almost anywhere. The most popular uses are kitchens, bathrooms, living and entertainment areas.
The tumbled product is popular for outdoor paving on verandahs and alfresco dining areas.
Mocha Travertine Paving
Mocha travertine is also available in 30mm thick paver form with a tumbled finish. The tumbling process has two important effects. Firstly, it softens and lightens the colour. Secondly, grip characteristics are improved resulting in a lower risk of slipping when the surface is wet. This is why tumbled travertine is used widely on outdoor surfaces that get wet; bathrooms too!

Travertine Paving - Cool on Hot Days
Travertine has wonderful thermal properties! On a hot day this surface will stay cool.
Our customers continually tell us how pleased they are with a surface that doesn't burn their feet when they walk outside or their backsides when they sit on the edge of the pool.
Travertine - Sealing Recommended
This travertine is relatively light in colour and while it is unlikely to show dirt in an obvious way, coffee, tea, wine, oil and grease will all discolour the stone if ignored.
The most vulnerable spots are kitchens and entertainment & BBQ areas where food and drink spillages are more likely. Even a light, cooking grade, olive oil will leave a residue unless the stone is sealed. However, if you are a fastidious cleaner and careful cook, sealing might not be necessary.
